I listened to this book and I quite enjoyed it on playaway.  It is the story of a woman who is still dealing with the scars of being almost abducted and killed by a serial killer.  He is now in jail, but someone else has decided to take the reins up where he left off.  Fiona has made a life for herself after what happened.  She teaches dog obedience classes while working as a volunteer for a canine rescue unit.  But when a new killer seems to target her, she will have to be braver than she has ever been.  Luckily, there is a new man in her life that should help her face her darkest fears.  This is a suspense novel, but also a love story between Fiona and Simon.

Ashe Carver is a vampire hunter who used to be a powerful witch before she killed her parents in a spell gone horribly wrong.  She is back in Fairview to spend time with her sister and hopefully settle down.  She has her 10 year old daughter with her after her daughter has been in boarding school for the past few years.  Being a single mother is hard, but being a single mother who has a vampire assassin after her is even harder.  Then there is Captain Reynard who has lived in The Castle for hundreds of years.  Now, he is on a quest to find his soul which has been stolen.  He and Ashe team up for the job and sparks are soon flying.  Ashe is awesome, but it is Reynard who really steals the show.  He is the epitome of the conflicted hero, kind of like Heathcliff without all the whining.

The second book in the Dark Forgotten series tells the tale of Conall Macmillan, who became a demon in the first book, Ravenous.  But Conall thinks he has this demon thing beat and so is devastated that it might be coming back in another form.  Then, of course, there is The Castle, which Conall spent some time in and which he hopes never to return to.  However, people don’t know that he is a good demon and he gets sent back there where he meets a vampire that has never tasted human blood.  There is mayhem and chaos and evil and good and a nice love story.  A solid paranormal romance or urban fantasy, whichever you prefer.

The third book in the Cynster Sisters Series.  This one features Angelica and, while she too is kidnapped, she decides not to object the way the others have.  Of course, her kidnapper is also the man she believes that she is meant to spend the rest of her life with.  This book takes on a different tone from the others in the series because we learn why the Earl has been pursuing the Cynster girls.  His mother wants revenge and has stolen a famed goblet that he must get back or his whole Scottish clan will be bankrupt.  The hitch is that she wants one of the girls ruined and so her honorable son has come up with a way to get the goblet back and not ruin the girl.  But this means that Angelica must agree to a deception.  Which she willingly does.  I definitely liked this one the best in the mini-series and felt that the characters were well developed.  Well done!
