I have read all of Hamilton’s other Anita Blake books and so even though I don’t generally do Graphic Novels, I read this one as well. I liked the story of Anita’s earlier years quite a bit, but, as usual, I had trouble reading the graphic novel. Finding out how Anita first started out as a vampre hunter and necromancer and first meeting Jean Claude was well done. I like words more than pictures and tend to gloss over the pictures even though they are half the story. I had a hard time with the illustrations as they depict people differently than I imagined them. That being said, this is a well done graphic novel and I hope they do more.
